This #NationalWildlifeWeek, we’re starting with the kea, an Endangered parrot from New Zealand known for being one of the smartest (and most mischievous) birds in the world! 🦜 Our conservation partnership with the Kea Conservation Trust has taken us from the coastal forest and mountain ranges of New Zealand to behind-the-scenes coding sessions here in Colorado. While these clever kea cause chaos by dismantling roofs and investigating homes, they also face real dangers like toxic lead exposure.

With intelligence similar to Gibbons, they can be quite naughty and have been known to move traffic cones in to roads to stop cars and steal from the inside!
