Satellite imagery over Melbourne this morning shows a unique phenomenon that can sometimes develop under calm conditions. The 'Melbourne Eddy' is a low-level atmospheric circulation, causing cloud to swirl over the city and Port Phillip Bay. This cloud has become trapped by mountains to the east, north and west of the metro area.
