Sep 24, 2019 · If you don't have separate mic and headphone plugs then you will need an splitter that does that. It will have a four conductor jack and both 2 and 3 conductor plugs. You can connect the mic input of both computers with a two conductor splitter. You can't usually split the headphone input and connect that to the headphone output of two computers.

Feb 13, 2017 · Solution. #2. It looks like a splitter, but it is NOT a Y splitter. It is a 4 pole to dual 3 pole adapter. Often just called 4 pole to 3 pole. Look closely, the Mic/Headphone combo plug has 4 poles (4 sections of metal separated by 3 plastic bands) If you look at a 3 pole you can see it only has 2 of those plastic bands.
