Not being able to extend displays only duplicate displays via HDMI
Feb 1, 2022 · Out of the blue the HDMI to the LG TV's arent working from Dell 7480,7400 laptops, running windows 10 When plugging in the HDMI cable the laptop screen goes blank and the TV doesnt pick it up. fn+f8 and select duplicate (while screen is black) brings up the laptop and duplicates to the TV.

Dec 14, 2019 · sometimes on the TV's own hardware menu (use the TV's remote) there's usually loads of settings for display, audio etc. Do write down what you change so you can reset things if they go wrong. I can't see HDMI 1.4 as working for a UHD TV as well. As people have said you need HDMI 2.0. and also to set the TV as your main screen.

Turning down to 120hz does alleviate the issue but I hate compromising. Using different hdmi ports on the TV has the same results.

Oct 29, 2018 · So every time I boot my computer, my monitor doesn't recognize that there's any signal coming from the computer and immediately goes into the "low power" / power saving mode. This is "fixed" by unplugging and plugging back in my HDMI cable from my graphics card, meaning the screen wakes up and I can see my desktop after I plug the cable back in.

Mar 3, 2016 · If your cable is bad or you just need an adapter because for some reason a straight cable won't work - spending $20 on the adapter is a lot cheaper than new graphics card. I just installed my GTX 970 card a week ago and I had plenty of HDMI cables so that is why I went with the adapter instead of buying a new display port to hdmi cable.

Sep 22, 2017 · Most Notebooks/Laptops have a keyboard setting for control such as the Fn key plus another F key or other key/s for dimming/increasing the display, shouldn't affect the HDMI [or VGA on some] output. An example, my Vostro 1510 uses the Fn key plus the Up and Down arrows to make the changes while may ASUS uses the Fn key plus F5 or F6 for change.
