Jan 13, 2015 · $50 is a pretty hard budget, sorry i cant give too many options at that price. the creative aurvana live! headphones have pretty good sound for around $60 but arent capable of high volume levels. if you could spare a bit more the hd518 (neutral sound) or the ad500x (big soundstage but very little bass output) are both great for around $70-80.

Dec 29, 2013 · Some people find the treble of the 990s to be almost painfully bright. For only gaming the DT 990 is probably more 'exciting'. I haven't heard the 990s but I own HD 598s and still use them for gaming despite having better headphones for music. The 598 is light, very comfortable and has great soundstage.

Edit: that being said, I myself would go for better quality 2.1 against same price 5.1 setup. I prefer good quality headphones though.
