They’re up, up and — almost — away. The massive helium balloons that will float through City for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade took shape on Wednesday, when they were filled with helium ahead of the big event.

Sixth Avenue: The stretch from 38th to 59th streets offers some of the best views, as it's close to the end of the parade. Spectators should avoid the area on Sixth Avenue between 34th and 38th streets, as the live television broadcast will limit viewing there.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is set to continue rain or shine, as it has done for decades, despite wet weather forecasted for New York City. Organizers prep for a variety of weather conditions, but there are some changes that happen if the weather isn’t ideal.
