PHELPS, N.Y. – The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF2 tornado touched down in the Town of Phelps in Ontario County on Monday.

Environment Canada's tornado warning for eastern Ontario has ended. From about 3:20 until 4 p.m. the agency said a severe thunderstorm could possibly produce a tornado in communities such as Kemptville and Merrickville. It's not yet known if a tornado formed.

Phelps, N.Y. (WHAM) — A probable tornado ripped through the area of Phelps in Ontario County Monday evening, causing damage across the region. One home on Fort Hill Road that's been around since the 1800s had its roof ripped off during the storm. The owner of the historic house said she moved here in the 1980s and has never seen a storm like this.
