Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist party is headed for a victory in state elections in politically significant Maharashtra while the opposition won mineral-rich Jharkhand state

Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters on November 23 after the assembly election victory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Maharashtra has broken all records and “it is the biggest win for any party or pre-poll alliance in last 50 years”.

PM Modi highlighted, “The land of greats like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Savitribai Phule, Veer Savarkar, and Balasaheb Thackeray broke all records. In the last 50 years, this is the biggest mandate for a pre-poll alliance.”
