Milford police are shutting down roads on the east side of the city because of a gas leak and businesses have been evacuated, officials said.

A high gas main break was reported in an area of Milford on Monday morning. It happened in the area of Woodmont Road and Research Drive, according to the Milford Fire Department. Fire crews described it as an active scene.
