LONDON - A 17th-minute spot kick from winger Guro Reiten gave Chelsea a 1-0 home win over Manchester United on Sunday that extends their winning start to the Women's Super League season to eight games and keeps them top of the standings with 24 points.

Guro Reiten's penalty helped WSL leaders Chelsea maintain their perfect start to the season with a 1-0 win against Manchester United.

Chelsea Women and Manchester United are the two remaining unbeaten sides in England. Although the Red Devils’ unbeaten record haven’t been nearly as impressive as ours, they’ve done a great job of playing to the level of their rivals and getting good results in return, such as their 1-1 home draw against Arsenal with a late Melvine Malard goal.

United’s first defeat of the season leaves it in fifth place, behind Arsenal on goal difference and one point behind third-placed Brighton & Hove Albion.
