An Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon on Monday killed the head of Hamas' military operations in the country, Israel's army said. The strike came on the eve of the deadline for Israel’s full withdrawal from southern Lebanon under the ceasefire agreement that ended the 14-month war between Israel and Hezbollah.

The strike comes as Israel is expected to remain in certain Lebanese positions, despite the ceasefire agreement ordering it to withdraw

A Hamas military commander was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Sidon city in southern Lebanon on Monday, the military said. A military statement said that Mohammad Shahin was killed in a drone strike on a car in the coastal city in a joint operation by the army and the Shin Bet domestic security service.
