Nearly a dozen people are believed to be dead and many more injured as several fires broke out across Southern California amid historically dry and windy conditions.

Certain evacuation zones have been reduced or lifted completely as progress is made on the dual Palisades and Eaton blazes. However, authorities have confirmed that the death toll, previously at 16, has risen to 24.
