Syracuse led 73-69 with 1:45 remaining when Lucas Taylor made the biggest play of the game, With Cornell’s Nazir Williams looking like he was headed toward an easy layup, Taylor soared above the rim and swapped his shot away. Elijah Moore knocked down a 3-pointer on the other end, part of a season-high 19-point performance for the freshman.

The Syracuse Orange (4-2) finally got a double-digit win this season but it sure didn’t unfold as easily as anyone expected. In the end, two freshmen led the way as Syracuse pulled out a 82-72 win over the Cornell Big Red- the 44th consecutive win for the Orange over the Big Red.
