The "bomb cyclone" in Northern California leads to less severe weather for San Diego, with light rain expected and minimal impact on Thanksgiving.

A historically strong bomb cyclone, which triggered winds that killed at least two people, is working with a powerful atmospheric river to bring heavy rain, potential flooding, gusty winds and mountain snow across Northern California and the Pacific Northwest – and another system may be on the way.

In northern California, flood and high wind watches were in effect, with up to 8 inches (20 centimeters) of rain predicted for parts of the San Francisco Bay Area, North Coast and Sacramento Valley.
