Jason "Sundance" Head, who won Season 11 of "The Voice," took to social media to share a first-hand account of his accidental shooting.

"It was one of the craziest things that's ever happened to me," the singer-songwriter, 46, said in a selfie video shared to Facebook

Sundance Head, the country singer who won Season 11 of NBC's "The Voice," was accidentally shot by his own gun in the stomach at his Texas ranch.

The “Me and Jesus” singer called 911 himself and was airlifted to a hospital in Tyler, Texas. During this time, his wife Misty was then called by paramedics to inform her of what happened to her husband, Head's agent tells PEOPLE.

The 46-year-old Houston native – whose name is Jason Head – was putting a gun away at his ranch when it "slipped out of the holster, hit the side of the jeep and discharged into his stomach area," his publicist said.

His agent said the country singer was on a hunting trip Friday when he was struck. He was back home Saturday, his Facebook page said.
