This year’s annual feast averages about $5.80 per person, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Thanksgiving dinner survey – or about $58 for a gathering of 10. That number is down 5% from 2023 and 4.5% from 2022 but still 19% higher than the cost of Thanksgiving dinner pre-pandemic in 2019.

Meanwhile, other regions of the U.S. are expected to pay less, with dinner for 10 people in the South costing $56.81. People in the Northeast will spend $57.36 on their 10-person Thanksgiving feast, while people in the Midwest will spend $58.90.

Indiana residents can be thankful for a Thanksgiving dinner that’s less expensive to prepare this year compared to 2023. Shopping for the spread costs about 2% less this year, according to Indiana Farm Bureau’s Thanksgiving market basket survey.
