Paredes suffered a right hamstring injury during Saturday’s matchup with the Seattle Mariners and was removed from the game. Through an interpreter, he said he will return to Houston tomorrow to be evaluated. He said this hamstring injury initially “hurts more than the other one,” which kept him out for three games in June via Matt Kawahara.

Houston is 4-3 against Seattle this season and 3-1 in the last four, but struggled entering the All-Star break. The Astros are 1-5 over the last six games after going on a 6-1 stretch prior to that. Houston is leading the AL West by 5.0 games and has the second-easiest strength of schedule remaining.

BOTTOM LINE: The Seattle Mariners, on a four-game home winning streak, host the Houston Astros. Seattle has a 26-21 record in home games and a 52-45 record overall. The Mariners are 21-8 in games when they did not allow a home run.
