The tropical disturbance over the Caribbean continues to slowly organize. It’s likely to become Sara, the 18th named storm of the Atlantic season. It will stay over/near the western Caribbean & eastern Central America, possibly the Yucatan Peninsula through this week.

Channel 9 meteorologists are monitoring an area of tropical disturbance south of Florida. Tropical disturbance 99L is spinning in the Caribbean, and will likely become Sara over the next several days across the western Caribbean.

With less than a month left in the Atlantic hurricane season, another tropical wave of low atmospheric pressure in the Caribbean Sea is expected to develop into a stronger storm system in the coming days.
