The engine bay of a 2018 Honda Odyssey equipped with the automaker's 3.5 liter six-cylinder engine. Honda cited improper settings of equipment used to manufacture the engine's crankshaft, resulting in connecting rod journal dimensions being out of specifications.

The investigation is looking at vehicles that may have a “failure of connecting rod bearings leading to complete engine failure."

Last year Honda recalled hundreds of thousands of vehicles due to engine failure and this year they may have to recall more.
