The Atlanta Braves absolutely smacked the Cincinnati Reds on their way out of Ohio in order to win their series. That was awesome! Yesterday’s game was really fun to watch, which was a real and true relief since usually easy wins for the Braves seem to coincide with someone getting sacrificed to the baseball gods as an injury offering.

Buoyed by a strong record since over the last 100 days or so and more recently an ongoing nine-game win streak, the New York Mets are back in playoff position for the first time in a long time.  At 78-64,

The New York Mets have lifted themselves into a tie for the final NL wild-card spot with their strong start to September, winning nine of their past 13 games. In contrast, the Atlanta Braves' rather middling start to the month — winning just seven 13 — has left them tied with the Mets.
