Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has indicated the X-Men will play a key role in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars. Not only that, but it seems like the X-men pretty important for the subsequent phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The MCU appears to be actively trying to move past the multiversal chaos of Phases 4 and 5, as evidenced by its upcoming slate of projects. Following the announcement of Robert Downey Jr.’s return, Marvel fans are arguably most excited for the much-awaited arrival of the Avengers sequels.

Blade might be off the theatrical calendar, but Marvel Studios Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige has exclaimed that the studio is “committed” to the project. The reboot of the Wesley Snipes franchise was announced at Comic-Con 2019 with Oscar winner Mahershala Ali in the title role.

The Mahershala Ali-led reboot was scheduled for a Nov. 7, 2025 theatrical release before it was removed from Marvel's calendar.
