Gaza Senior Egyptian negotiators are due in Tel Aviv on Thursday to discuss with Israeli officials new Gaza ceasefire proposals along with suggestions to resolve the dispute between the two nations over Israel's occupation of the Palestinian side of the Egypt-Gaza border and Rafah crossing.

"We have informed mediators in Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey that Hamas is ready for a ceasefire agreement and a serious deal to exchange prisoners, a Hamas official told AFP. The official, however, reportedly accused Israel of obstructing an agreement.

The Israeli military reported shooting down a drone carrying weapons from Egypt, although Egyptian sources deny awareness of the incident. Similar incidents occurred in October, with drones suspected of smuggling arms.
