An Indian court in the state of Rajasthan has accepted a petition from a right-wing Hindu group claiming that the shrine of a revered Muslim Sufi saint and philosopher is sitting on top of a temple for the Hindu god, Shiva.

A court in Ajmer, Rajasthan issued a notice on (27 November) to the defendants in a civil suit alleging that the Ajmer Dargah, the tomb of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, was built over a Shiva temple and should be declared the Bhagwan Shri Sankatmochan Mahadev Virajman Temple.

Vishnu Gupta has in the past filed a suit on behalf of Bal Krishna in the Mathura dispute. He also had a ‘havan’ for Donald Trump’s success in the United States presidential election of 2016.

The suit asks for the Union government to be directed to construct the Bhagwan Shri Sankatmochan Mahadev temple at the site.
