Vitale was among the many who were upset about Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark being ranked as the ninth-best guard by her peers in the player voting portion of the WNBA All-Star process after ranking first in fan voting and third in media voting — and he took to X to air his grievances.

ESPN analyst Dick Vitale is further calling out “jealousy” among WNBA players toward Caitlin Clark. Speaking with Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy, he pointed out the increased attention toward the league over the last year.

The Indiana Fever guard was recently announced as one of the captains for the WNBA All-Star Game on July 19, the reward of receiving the most fan votes (a whopping and historic 1.3 million). Clark was also the No. 3 vote-getter among media members, but when it came to voting from players, the Fever star shockingly did not do well.
