At least 22 deaths have been reported and millions are without power in six states as Helene makes its way inland.

Helene roared ashore in Florida as a Category 4 hurricane, trapping residents in floodwaters, peeling siding off buildings, knocking out power to millions.

Helene -- which has strengthened to a major Category 3 hurricane -- is taking aim at Florida, where it's forecast to make landfall along the Big Bend area on Thursday night. North Carolina and Georgia have declared states of emergency ahead of Hurricane Helene, their governors announced on Wednesday.
