Bharat NCAP is a voluntary safety rating system modelled after Global NCAP’s “Safer Cars for India" initiative. It evaluates two main criteria: Structural integrity of the vehicle. Safety for adult and child occupants in M1 category vehicles (passenger vehicles under 3.5 tonnes with seating for up to eight).

Mahindra XUV 3XO has scored a five-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test for both adult and child occupant protection.

The vehicle scored 31.09/32 in adult occupant protection (AOP) and 45/49 in child occupant protection (COP), setting a new benchmark in safety.

The Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP) announced the crash safety ratings for the Mahindra XUV 3XO compact SUV. While BNCAP has tested the XUV 3XO AX7 L and MX2 variants, the ratings are applicable to the entire line-up of petrol and diesel-powered units.
