A space rock dubbed 2024 YR4 has a roughly 2.3% chance of smashing into our planet, NASA scientists announced.
"An asteroid this size impacts Earth on average every few thousand years and could cause severe damage to a local region," the European Space Agency said.
YR4 has just over a 2% chance of hitting Earth, according to NASA, but experts say there's no need to panic yet.
