Sabres power play lost them the game in Calgary
The Sabres lost in Calgary 5-2, but in reality, it was a one-goal game because of two empty net goals. I can’t say that I hated a lot of this game because Buffalo lost because they were 0-for-6 on the power play against the 30th ranked penalty kill.

Tage Thompson and JJ Peterka each recorded a hat trick and an assist to lead the Buffalo Sabres to a 7-2 win over the visiting Boston Bruins on Tuesday night.
The Winnipeg Jets lead the NHL power rankings for the first time since November, but it's tight at the top. Plus, the blockbuster Rantanen trade has another big winner.
The Sabres have the assets to entice Vancouver into a trade. The bigger question is what, exactly, Buffalo might have to give up.
The club is last in the Eastern Conference with an 18-26-5 record and, barring an unprecedented run, the playoff drought that’s chased off season-ticket holders will reach 14 years.
Revenge games, aren’t they fun? What we saw out of Corey Perry on Thursday night is why we used to always hate him all those years he was in Anaheim before he signed in Edmonton.
