Republican Congressman Troy Nehls, whose district covers the majority of Fort Bend County, has announced that he will not be running for re-election in 2026.
Rep. Troy Nehls, a Trump loyalist from Texas, said Saturday he made the decision after consulting with his family over the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Democrat’s decision will likely open up a competitive 2026 race to lead the nation’s capital.
