Alexander Romanov and Kyle Palmieri scored for the Islanders (26-25-7). David Pastrnak scored to extend his NHL career-high point streak to 16 games for the Bruins (27-25-8), who are 0-3-2 in their past five games.
The trade deadline inches closer every day and the New York Islanders slowly drift into seller’s territory. They’ve lost four games in a row and their Feb.
But winger David Pastrnak gave the Bruins much-needed life, cutting the deficit to one with what seemed like a pass toward the net that found its way in from a tough angle. Center Pavel Zacha and defenseman Parker Wotherspoon picked up assists on the play, but the focus remained on Pastrnak.
The New York Islanders will be welcoming back Noah Dobson to the lineup on Thursday evening against the Boston Bruins.
