Willow Nightingale‘s reign as the CMLL World Women’s Champion has come to an end. AEW star Willow Nightingale won the vacant title at CMLL x NJPW FantasticaMania USA on July 13, where she defeated Lluvia and Viva Van.

AEW’s Willow Nightingale will be in action at CMLL’s 91st Anniversary show, as she will defend her title. As announced on the September 4 episode of CMLL Informa, Willow Nightingale will defend the CMLL World Women’s Championship against Zeuxis at the event on September 13.

Willow Nightingale will make her first defense of the CMLL Women’s Championship at the 91st Anniversary event.

During her reign, Nightingale held two CMLL World Women's Title Eliminator matches in AEW against Deonna Purrazzo and former friend turned enemy Kris Statlander, in which Statlander won her contested match.

Orange Cassidy noted that Jefferson Starship initially did not grant him permission to use the song "Jane" from Wet Hot American Summer.

CMLL held their 91st Anniversary show last night at Arena Mexico and AEW had some heavy involvement in the show. Willow Nightingale dropped the CMLL Women’s World Championship to Zeuxis, so it appears Kris Statlander won’t get the title shot she earned last month.

In a year of massive success with their weekly events, CMLL holds their biggest event of the year tonight at Arena Mexico with their 91st Anniversary show. The headliner will see AEW star Chris Jericho make his promotional return for the first time since 1995 to take on the legendary Mistico.
