Russell Martin was left “frustrated” with the decision to disallow what could have been a winning goal for Southampton against Brighton & Hove Albion. Cameron Archer thought he had given the visiting side to The Amex Stadium the lead when he fired home from Ryan Fraser’s cross after 68 minutes.

Fabian Hurzeler accused Russell Martin of showing a lack of respect following their bust-up in the aftermath of Brighton’s 1-1 draw with Southampton on Friday evening. Kaoru Mitoma opened the scoring for Brighton but Southampton equalised in the second half through Flynn Downes.

It has been confirmed by the Premier League Match Centre that Cameron Archer's goal to put Southampton ahead against Brighton was ruled out for offside in the build-up. Archer believed he had given the Saints a crucial lead at the Amex Stadium with a cushioned volley at the back post with less than 25 minutes to go.
