Shear line and the northern monsoon (amihan) will bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains in Central and Southern Luzon on Saturday, according to PAGASA. In its 4 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said the shear line will bring Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Bicol Region, Quezon, Laguna, and Rizal.

In its weather forecast, Pagasa said that the shear line may bring some rains in some portions of Southern Luzon while the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan” may affect the entirety of Luzon.

Shear line, or the convergence of the northeast monsoon and warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, will bring moderate to intense rains in some parts of the country from Sunday to Monday, the state weather bureau said on Saturday.

The Shear Line and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) continue to bring cloudy conditions over parts of the country on Friday.
