Last month, lottery officials announced it will cost $5 to play Mega Millions, beginning in April 2025, up from the current $2 per ticket. The price increase will be one of many changes to Mega Millions that officials said will result in improved jackpot odds, more frequent giant prizes and even larger payouts.

The numbers for the estimated $453 million Mega Millions jackpot were drawn Friday night. Here's what Arizona lottery players need to know.

The odds of matching the five white balls and Mega Ball to win the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350. A jackpot winner has the option of taking an annuity or cash payment. The annuity is paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments, according to the Mega Millions website. Each payment is 5% bigger than the previous one.

The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday’s lottery drawing has increased to an estimated $420 million, with a cash option of $191.7 million. The drawing will be held at 10:59 p.m. and televised on WABC-7 in New York City and Fox 29 in Philadelphia. NJ.com will publish the winning numbers immediately following the drawing.
