McLaren call for an inquiry into the penalty Lando Norris was given for ignoring yellow flags during the Qatar Grand Prix.

McLaren boss Andrea Stella said he could not understand the decision to hand Lando Norris an “unbelievably harsh” penalty at the Qatar Grand Prix and called for a sense of proportion to be shown to drivers.

Lando Norris has dismissed as “comedy” a reported claim by Max Verstappen that he could have secured the Formula 1 title earlier if he’d had the same McLaren car as Norris, his closest challenger.
