The Election Commission will begin counting of votes for Maharashtra, Jharkhand at 8 am today. Exit polls have predicted a victory of Mahayuti in Maharashtra and a neck-and-neck fight between NDA and INDIA in Jharkhand.

The 2024 Assembly elections mark a significant shift in Maharashtra’s political landscape, with both the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) entering the fray after internal splits.

Most exit polls have predicted a victory for the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, but two pollsters expect hung assembly. The BJP-led NDA is expected to win the Jharkhand assembly elections, most exit polls say.

The ruling Mahayuti has won 234 of the 288 seats in the Maharashtra elections, with the BJP emerging as the single largest party, winning 132 seats on its own.

Congress's Supriya Shrinate also said that discussions should be held on how elections were postponed and how Mahayuti got more time to launch its schemes.
