Authorities rescued people trapped by floodwaters and more than 3 million customers were in the dark across much of the southeastern U.S. after Hurricane Helene made landfall overnight in Florida.
As of 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Duke Energy outage maps showed that there were 3,530 people in the area without power with the Lindley Park neighborhood and Brice Street Area being affected.
