The actress and the Nobel Peace Prize winner have produced a documentary by Afghan director Sahra Mahni featuring testimonies from a half dozen women on how they are being stripped of their rights

The Oscar-winning actress also says she's had to battle trolls who claim she's "not educated" enough to talk about political matters, to which she responds, "It’s not political, it’s people's lives.”

Sahra Mani's Apple TV+ documentary, produced by Jennifer Lawrence and Malala Yousafzai, intimately tracks the Taliban's assault on Afghani women and their rights.

Bread and Roses', which largely features footage taken in Afghanistan after the Taliban retook control of the country in 2021, is now streaming on Apple TV+
