This week’s atmospheric river storm smashed some heavy rainfall records in parts of the Bay Area, especially the North Bay, before mostly petering out by Saturday morning. Downtown Santa Rosa received 12.

Daytime highs will be mostly in the low 60s on the coast, mid 50s to low 60s around the bay, and in the low 60s inland. Overnight lows will be mostly in the mid 40s to low 50s. Scattered showers are possible Sunday afternoon and evening, with the North Bay likely getting the most rain.

The updating radar map shows current areas of precipitation in green, with greater intensities indicated by yellow and orange.

The remnants of what was once Tropical Storm Sara will bring rain and some storms to the Tampa Bay area on Wednesday, with much drier and cooler air moving in behind it.

Downtown Santa Rosa broke a century-plus record for having the most amount of rain within a 72-hour period — 12,7 inches. The previous record was 9.72 inches. “We broke it by a healthy margin,” Flynn said. “We’ve never seen that much of rain over three days since we started recording.”
