Walmart's Holiday Deals event starts on the same day as Amazon's October Prime Day sale​ but lasts even longer.

The retailer's first holiday deals event of the season returns from October 8 to 13 — expect six days of mega-savings on vacs, smart TVs, fashion, gifts and more.

If you're a regular Walmart shopper, Walmart+ will save you money. A Walmart+ membership normally costs $98, or $40 less than its major membership service competitor, Amazon Prime. However, you can test it out for free for 30-days right now to get free shipping and same-day delivery.

Amazon has held a second Prime Day of sorts in October and that sale event is coming back this year, too. Prime Big Deal Days returns on October 8 and 9, but we’re already starting to see some decent deals pop up across Amazon’s site.
