Temperatures were plunging and the wind was whipping -- not an ideal day for a walk on the beach. It turned out to be a par-saving moment for Scottie Scheffler on Friday in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Scottie Scheffler saved par from the wrong side of the cliffs at Pebble Beach, but a 'lucky' break (and the rules) helped get him there.

After making their 2025 PGA Tour debuts at Pebble Beach, Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth are in the field for the upcoming WM Phoenix Open. While Spieth has a solid record at TPC Scottsdale — five top-10s in eight previous starts — Scheffler's is fantastic.

At BetMGM, Scheffler opened at 5-1 to win the Pro-Am and his odds have not only held steady but attracted a ton of action. The sportsbook notes that Scheffler accounted for 20.5 percent of all outright winner wagers on Wednesday, as well as 29.3 percent of the total handle on that market.

Scheffler went from the hill right of the 10th fairway at Spyglass to a front bunker, blasted out some 20 feet and missed his par putt. That was his only bogey, though he was 1 over until lacing the fairway metal to 30 feet for two-putt birdie on the par-5 14th, just as McIlroy on the hole next to him plucked his ball from the cup.

Scheffler had to find his ball and then hit from the rocky sand on the par-5 18th hole Friday at Pebble Beach.
