L ONDON -- Russia overnight fired more than 300 drones and about three dozen missiles at targets throughout Ukraine, including civilian energy infrastructure and emergency services, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Thursday. The strike included an attack on the State Emergency Service department in the Kharkiv region.

President Trump on Tuesday suggested that he may allow a sale of U.S.-made Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, giving Kyiv the ability to conduct long-range strikes deep into Russia.

“I might say, look, if this war’s not going to get settled, I’m going to send them Tomahawks,” Mr Trump said on Sunday.

Russia seized significantly less territory from Ukraine in September than in August, the British Ministry of Defence said in an intelligence update shared on Thursday.
