Following a teaser earlier this year, the reborn TWR has released more information about its stunning Supercat. Based on the – somewhat maligned – Jaguar XJS, the Supercat is an extreme, motorsport-inspired restomod powered by a supercharged V12 engine.

It’s been a few years, but now the name is back. With Tom’s son Fergus at the helm, the new TWR has just revealed the Supercat — a super grand-tourer based on the classic XJS but brought up to the moment with a new engine, modern materials, and a bold body kit.
Jaguar XJS-based TWR Supercat ready for production with 660-hp V-12
The first product from the new TWR is the Supercat, a Jaguar XJS restomod that spits out out 660 hp. The output is generated by a supercharged 5.6-liter V-12 that TWR developed in-house, albeit based on the original XJS 5.3-liter V-12. Drive is to the rear wheels only.

TWR is currently run by Fergus Walkinshaw, the son of the great Tom Walkinshaw. The company plans to build 88 units of the Supercar, priced from £225,000 (~$285,000), excluding the cost of the Jaguar XJS donor car.
