On Friday, a group of 15 UN and humanitarian groups released a statement warning that Israel is aiming to wipe out all Palestinians left in north Gaza. Gaza officials have estimated that roughly 100,000 people are left in north Gaza, trapped by Israel’s brutal ground invasion.

The UN agency for supporting Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) said on Monday that Israel's ban on its operations would lead to the "collapse" of humanitarian work in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it had notified the U.N. of the cancellation of an agreement dating back to 1967 that facilitates UNRWA's work.

The Biden administration is stepping up criticism of Israel for not doing enough to improve humanitarian conditions in Gaza as a 30-day deadline looms for Israeli officials to meet certain requirements or risk potential restrictions on military assistance.

With a consequential presidential election in days, President Joe Biden faces a difficult task after pigeonholing his administration into blind support for Israel.

Israel's parliament has passed bills banning the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees from operating in Israel and the Palestinian territories.
