After weeks of deliberation, the Senate passed its version of the Trump tax bill on Tuesday. In the approved package, there are several major changes to Medicaid, which would lead to deeper spending cuts than the version passed by the House.

During his meeting with GOP holdouts, Trump had to be informed that his budget bill did indeed kick Americans off Medicaid, according to NOTUS. “But we’re touching Medicaid in this bill,” one member reportedly responded to Trump.

Reps. Jen Kiggans and Rob Wittman have both expressed concern over how much further the Senate version of the reconciliation bill goes in cutting Medicaid than the House version they both backed.
