Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service could be part of the Federal Aviation Administration's plan to upgrade the nation's aging air traffic control systems.Starlink's internet equipment is being tested in least two different FAA facilities.

Without citing evidence, Musk said the air traffic control communication system managed by L3Harris is “breaking down” and "the situation is extremely dire."

The FAA is reportedly considering canceling a $2.4 billion Verizon contract for air traffic control upgrades because Musk's team wants SpaceX's Starlink business to handle it.
