MNTN, the parent company of Ryan Reynolds' Maximum Effort, has entered into an agreement to offload its interest in the production company and digital marketing agency to "an affiliate of its original owner.

Maximum Effort had sold the marketing side of the business to MNTN in 2021, with Reynolds working as chief creative officer. The actor will continue to serve in that role with the ad firm.

While the move aligns with a potential IPO, experts suggest the timing raises questions about whether the actor’s involvement in a high-profile lawsuit influenced the decision.
