The US$500 billion Stargate artificial intelligence infrastructure project is moving forward despite internal disputes and SoftBank's withdrawal, with OpenAI and Oracle signing agreements for a 4.5GW data center that suppliers expect will drive sustained demand through 2026.

OpenAI and Oracle will develop another 4.5 gigawatts of data center capacity, expanding a tie-up that has promised hundreds of billions of dollars in infrastructure investment to keep the U.S. ahead in the global artificial intelligence race.

California-based power solutions provider Bloom Energy said it will deploy its fuel cell technology at select Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) data centers in the U.S. The company on July 24 said it will deliver on-site power for an entire data center within 90 days.
