Strong storms are beginning to move into western Oklahoma from the Texas Panhandle late Thursday, prompting the National Weather Service to issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of Oklahoma. Storms are expected to continue tracking east throughout Friday morning.

Two people died after their vehicle was trapped in floodwaters and one person was killed in a tornado, officials said. Severe weather threatened parts of Arkansas and Missouri on Sunday.

Police say they were able to rescue some people, but a woman and 12-year-old boy were found dead. Large swaths of Oklahoma remain under a National Weather Service flood watch through Sunday, along with parts of Missouri,
