University of Michigan regent Jordan Acker said transparency is imperative regarding the circumstances surrounding the firing of Sherrone Moore.

From recruiting sanctions to the Connor Stallions saga to coaches fired for serious ethics violations, Michigan football has found itself in several precarious situations in recent years.

While Michigan football has generally avoided large scandals, the program has faced a handful of controversies, including several this decade.

The latest is Michigan coach Sherrone Moore being fired “with cause” for what the university called an “inappropriate” relationship with a staffer. He then was arrested for going to the home of the staff member. Moore already had received a suspension for his part in the signal-stealing scandal and also in some recruiting violations.
